A trip to the Adelaide Hills would nary be complete without a tour of the historic Magill Estate. A wide range of experiences now feature the recently redeveloped ‘Drives’ (tunnels) that showcase the original resting spot of Max Schubert’s ‘hidden’ Grange, from the 1958 vintage. The standard tour will begin at the original Grange Cottage, the 1844 home of Penfolds founders Christopher and Mary Penfold. You’ll then have the chance to explore the surrounding vineyard and delve into the underground cellars as you venture into the heart the original Penfolds winery. Finally, from the comfort of one the estate’s private tasting rooms, you will sample from a selection of Penfolds’ most coveted wines – including the flagship Grange.What’s on the menu?

Indulging in the stunning degustation menu at the Magill Estate Kitchen with gorgeous views of the historic Penfolds vineyard and Adelaide city is highly recommended.
