Alkoomi Wines
Western Australia, Australia
Alkoomi Wines is a family-run vineyard with over 50 years of history and recognised as a cornerstone of the Frankland River Wine Region. The original farm was purchased in 1946 by the family, who named it “Alkoomi” – a word meaning "a place we chose" thought to be derived from a local Indigenous language. In 1971, Alkoomi started the transition from a mixed grain and livestock farm to a vineyard, at first planting just one hectare each of Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, and a little Shiraz and Malbec. The business has grown through generations but continues the family tradition with a strong focus on community, hospitality, and memorable wine experiences.
Their Frankland River Cellar Door offers a warm and welcoming space for you to taste and enjoy their wines. Each tasting experience will take you on an adventure to explore their range. After your tasting, enjoy a cheese board of local produce, relaxed on the grass or cozied up by the fire.
As well a tasting experience Alkoomi also offers chalet accommodation for the perfect isolated farm escape. These rooms offer the perfect place to spend a weekend in nature or a night when passing through the Great Southern.
