The Cabrière farm was established in 1694 by one of the Huguenot settlers who gave the picturesque valley of Franschhoek – the “French corner” – its name. The current winery was built into the mountain in the 1990s and renovated in 2019 to match its longstanding vinous excellence with simple yet sophisticated design. An infinity deck wraps around the exterior, whilst tastings take place in a glass box of a room with outstanding vistas beyond. Enjoy homemade bread from the bakery, fine dining at the restaurant and the pièce de résistance: sparkling wine-paired breakfasts with the flagship MCC, ‘Pierre Jourdan.’ And don’t forget to have your picture taken in the giant hillside photo frame.
