Bodega Bouza
Montevideo, Uruguay
- #38 World's Best Vineyards 2024
Dine amid the Bouza family’s vintage car and motorcycle collection at their winery, founded in 2000, the restaurant decorated with more than 30 vehicles dating from the 1920s onwards. Food is sourced from the estate’s own vegetable garden and local producers, an ideal accompaniment to the wines made from its three vineyard sites – one surrounding the updated 1942 homestead, designed in the French style just outside the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo, and others in Canelones and the coastal destination of Maldonado. Free tours run thrice daily, leading you through the vineyards, winery and cellars before a tailored tasting alongside tapas on the terrace, a restored English railroad wagon from 1929 chilling in the foreground.
