Family Values
The Antinori family has been making wines in Tuscany since 1385. Six hundred years and 26 generations later, this family passion extends to a portfolio of estates that spans Italy, the United States and Chile. But Tuscany, and in particular Chianti Classico, remains the beating heart of this incredible legacy. Pride of place among these properties are the likes of Tignanello in Chianti Classico and Tenuta Guado al Tasso in Bolgheri. In a short space of time, these genre-breaking wines have become some of the most sought-after labels in all of Italy, prime examples of the expertise of the Antinori family and their continual search for excellence. With such intrinsic ties to Tuscany, the family is also a keen patron of the arts. It founded the Antinori Academy which collects and preserves artworks linked to Tuscany and its wine culture and, in 2012, launched the Antinori Art Project which supports contemporary artists with installations at the new Antinori nel Chianti Classico winery.

Your visit
Visiting the Antinori nel Chianti Classico winery is an experience in itself. Bold and strikingly modern, it combines the Antinori family's longstanding ties to Tuscany with their bold outlook for the region's future. The winery was designed to have a low environmental impact, was built entirely with local materials and is energy efficient.

Visitors can choose from three experiences, each of which explores different aspects of the family history, winemaking philosophy and wines they produce in increasingly greater depth. There is also the possibility of arranging a private, tailor-made visit that includes tasting some of the family's most famous wines. The rooftop restaurant, Rinuccio 1180, offers glorious views of the Tuscan countryside, alongside exquisite local dishes and a wide selection of Antinori wines.

The first Antinori winery in 26 generations built to welcome visitors, Antinori nel Chianti Classico is the perfect setting to discover the philosophy, passion and quest for perfection behind one of Tuscany's greatest families of wine.

The wines
As well as its sustainable credentials, the Antinori nel Chianti Classico winery was also made to be an ideal space for the production of truly great wines. The winery operates on several levels, with grapes and then wine using gravity to flow down to the next stage of the vinification process. The cellars are also naturally maintained at the perfect temperature for the ageing of wines once they are made.

It is here that Antinori produces its Chianti Classico wines, such as Peppoli, from the historical grape varieties of Tuscany, principally Sangiovese but also Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Malvasia nera and Mammolo.
