Located at the bottom of the winding and leafy Constantia hill close to Cape Town’s centre is the Steenberg estate, combining contemporary elegance with the heritage of being the Cape’s first registered farm, established in 1682. It encompasses a five-star hotel, golf course, spa and two restaurants – Bistro Sixteen82 serves locally inspired tapas with finer dining at Tryn, named after the estate’s pioneering founder, Catarina Ras. Tastings take place on a terrace looking on to pristine lawns, with water features and sofas creating a relaxed environment in which to enjoy the wines and stories behind them.
