Finca La Emperatriz
Rioja, Spain
Finca la Emperatriz was once owned by Spanish aristocrat Eugenio de Montijo, the last empress of France. The oldest vineyards are still referred to as ‘the empress’s garden’ and it’s where any visit to the property begins. After a walk through the vines you can enjoy the views of both the Sierra Cantabria and Sierra de la Demanda mountains from the bar with paired tasting flights. There is accommodation at the property, which is within easy reach of the region’s many historic towns, cultural sites and outdoor activities including golf courses and hiking trails.
