WBV 2024 Nyetimber UK

World’s Best Vineyards 2024 to be announced 4 November in Sussex, UK

The highly anticipated World's Best Vineyards 2024 Top 50 list reveal will take place at the picturesque Nyetimber Estate in Sussex on 4th November 2024. This exclusive event will bring together winemakers and vineyard owners from around the globe to celebrate excellence.

Prior to the main event, the 51-100 list will be unveiled online on Monday, October 28, at 1 PM GMT. This early reveal will set the stage for the grand announcement of the top 50, building excitement among wine enthusiasts and industry professionals alike.

Nyetimber provides the perfect backdrop for this prestigious event, with its rich heritage and unwavering commitment to quality, reflected in its use of 100% estate-grown grapes and its artisan approach to winemaking. In 2018, Nyetimber’s Head Winemaker, Cherie Spriggs, made history as the first woman to win the highly regarded International Wine Challenge Sparkling Winemaker of the Year award.

Each of Nyetimber’s 11 vineyards, spanning across the heart of England’s southeast countryside, has been specifically selected for its unique and exacting elements to produce exceptional wines. They are all south-facing, sheltered from the coastal weather, and consist of mineral-rich chalk or free-draining greensand soils, providing the ideal conditions for growing the renowned grape varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Visitors can enjoy unique tours and tastings at the historic Nyetimber Estate during its Open Days, held over six weekends each year in the spring and summer months.

The World's Best Vineyards, an annual initiative, celebrates and recognises the finest vineyards across the globe. The list is chosen by 500 travel and wine tourism experts, sommeliers, and travel aficionados, ensuring a comprehensive and authoritative ranking. The event honours outstanding vineyards and offers enthusiasts a curated guide to the world's top wine destinations.

About World's Best Vineyards:
The World’s Best Vineyards Top 50 list is compiled from all the nominations by the global academy of voters. The world is split into geographical regions, each headed up by an acknowledged expert as the Academy Chair. Each Academy Chair is responsible for recruiting 36 wine and travel experts. Each member of the Voting Academy must vote for 7 vineyards. There is no pre-determined checklist of criteria or predefined list to choose from – each vote is a nomination for a vineyard experience open to the public that they deem to truly be the best in the world.
