The wines

Maison M. Chapoutier produces an incredibly broad range of wines at every price point – from everyday Côtes du Rhône to much sought after, prestigious, single-vineyard wines. The family is inextricably tied to the hill of Hermitage, from where its most coveted single-vineyard wines hail. (Chapoutier owns a remarkable 25% of this appellation). As well as owning vineyards the length and breadth of the Rhône, from Châteauneuf-du-Pape to Condrieu, the company has, more recently, expanded beyond its home with vineyards in Australia, Spain, Portugal and elsewhere in France, including Beaujolais and Provence. Internationally recognised, the company has won numerous awards for the consistent quality of its wines.

With almost 15 years' experience in wine tourism, Maison Chapoutier offers a rich and varied adventure, combining a deep attachment to terroir with a spirit of discovery. Tain l’Hermitage has all the soul and charm expected of a small French town in the Rhône Valley. Stay in La Tour du Pavillon in the heart of the vineyards - its exceptional panoramic view of the Saint Joseph hills and the Tournon-Sur-Rhône Château will live long in the memory. Discover the secrets of Rhône terroir and biodynamic viticulture on guided vineyard tours or book a fine wine workshop with a private sommelier followed by lunch and a food and wine pairing. Electric bikes are available to scale the hillsides and wines and tapas can be enjoyed whilst gazing at the star-lit night sky under the tutelage of an astronomer.
