Bodega La Azul

Mendoza, Argentina

There are knockout views to be at had at Bodega La Azul, founded in 2003 by a longtime winemaking family and located at the base of the Cordón del Plata, a sub-range in the Andean foothills. The restaurant makes a heart-warming stop along the well-oiled wine trail of Route 89, not least thanks to the traditional wood-fired ovens cooking Creole cuisine; covered in colour from the inside out to the pergola terrace it makes a buzzy wine tasting spot. And if you don’t want the mountainous sights to end, then the bedrooms of the boutique guesthouse feature floor-length windows. Located amongst the vineyards, orchards and family home, Finca La Azul has a sustainable ethos and luxurious but homely feel. Meals are taken al fresco at a communal table and the pool offers welcome recuperation after days spent roaming the vineyards.
