Château Khoury
Bekaa Valley, Lebanon
In the eastern foothills of Mount Lebanon, Château Khoury’s vineyards were planted in 1995 on land abandoned during the Lebanese civil war, its majestic stone castle completed in 2004. Inside this gravity-fed winery is owner Raymond Khoury’s modernist laboratory, where he analyzes the fruit of his 15 hectares of vines farmed with the help of his wife and son (who trained in Bordeaux). They’ll lead you on detailed tours before you enjoy lunch on the terrace, with views out onto the Bekaa Valley’s largest city, Zahle, and the sweeping mountain vistas beyond.
