Diamonds are forever

Set against the stunning backdrop of the vineyards and mountains of Stellenbosch, Delaire-Graff Estate offers a quintessentially South African luxury wine experience. Scattered among its gardens are exclusive boutiques, elegant restaurants and original artworks. It is a hidden paradise of unrivalled beauty and tranquillity.

In 2003, Laurence Graff found a diamond in the rough. A beautiful vineyard site with ancient granite soils in the shadow of the majestic Botmaskop Peak. But the vines themselves needed replanting. Fast forward seven years, after intensive soil studies and the application of precision viticulture, a beautifully ordered and maintained vineyard was ready to start full production. Today the 20-hectare estate produces a full range of red, white, rosé, sparkling and dessert wines. Sitting in the Helshoogte Pass, the vineyards benefit from both mountain and maritime influences, which lends more intensity, freshness and elegance to its wines and some truly spectacular views. Pride of place in the vineyard goes to one block of Cabernet Sauvignon, the oldest vines on the property and the one plot that was spared the overhaul in 2003. The best barrels produced from these vines make the estate's top wine, the Laurance Graff Reserve. In a very short period, thanks to the attention to detail that is lavished on the vines and wines at every step of their journey, Delaire Graff has achieved critical acclaim at the very highest levels.

Your visit

The largest lodge has four bedrooms, an infinity pool and a private chef. Guests at the lodges are also invited to take full advantage of the wellness centre and spa on site. Enjoy one of the treatments in a private room, have a meditative moment in the sauna and steam room and then relax in the outdoor infinity pool or jacuzzi with its views of Table Mountain. Any visitors can book a table at one of the restaurants to try a selection of artful dishes paired with the estate's award-winning wines. The Delaire Graff Restaurant offers bistro-chic dining, in both the fire-warmed main restaurant and shady terrace, with breathtaking views of the Banghoek Valley. Meanwhile, head chef Virgil Khan is serving up Afro-Asian-inspired dishes in the atmospheric Indochine. Discover this jewel of the Cape Winelands on your next South African adventure.
